Ask Tic Buddy

Ask the assistant about your CRM, have it create or change records for you, talk to it by voice, and decide which roles may do what with it.

Guide 6602Updated

Tic Buddy is the round button at the bottom right of every page. Ask it a question in plain words and it looks the answer up in your CRM. Tell it what to create or change, and it prepares it for you to confirm.

It appears once an owner or admin has switched it on. See Set up Tic Buddy.

Ask a question

  1. Click the Tic Buddy button at the bottom right.
  2. Type your question and press the send button, or click one of the suggestions, such as How many leads came in today? or Open deals by stage, with their value.

Tic Buddy can count, total and list:

  • leads, deals, contacts and companies
  • tasks and activities (calls, meetings, emails and notes)
  • projects, products, estimates and invoices
  • calendar events

You can narrow a question by period ("this week", "last month"), by person ("my", or a colleague's name), by stage, status or source, and ask for a breakdown, for example by stage or by responsible person. A list shows up to 15 records.

It also answers money questions from the Ledger, such as what came in this month, what is still to be paid, costs and profit, for people whose role may open the Ledger.

Tic Buddy answers as you: it sees only the records your role lets you open. If your role has no access to something, it says so instead of giving a number.

Click the bin at the top of the panel (Start over) to clear the conversation.

Have it create or change something

If your workspace allows it, you can tell Tic Buddy what to do, for example "Remind me to call the supplier tomorrow at 11".

It can create:

  • tasks, leads, contacts and deals (deals go into the default pipeline)
  • calendar events, with colleagues invited, or for whole departments or the whole company

It can change:

  • a deal or lead: its stage, value or responsible person (and a lead's status)
  • a task: mark it done, or change its status, deadline, priority or who does it
  • log a call, meeting, email or note on a lead, deal, contact or company, and add a comment to one

It never deletes anything.

Tic Buddy never acts on its own. It shows a card with what it has prepared. Check it, then click Do it, or Cancel. You can also just type or say "yes" or "no". When it is done, a link to the record appears; click Open to go there.

Talk to it

  • Click the microphone and speak your question or command. Click Done when you have finished.
  • Click the speaker at the top of the panel (Read answers aloud) to have answers spoken.
  • Click the settings button at the top (Voice settings) to pick the Language you speak in and the Voice. Hear it plays a sample. Your choice is kept on this device.

Tic Buddy listens and answers in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Urdu, Arabic, French and Spanish. A language with no voice on your device is still understood, and answered in writing.

Voice works in Chrome, Edge and Safari, which use their own speech services to listen. If the microphone is blocked, allow it from the address bar and try again. Workspaces that use OpenAI also get natural-sounding studio voices, charged to the workspace's OpenAI key.

Decide who may use it

Owners and admins decide, role by role, under Settings → Access. In each role's Tic Buddy part, tick:

  • Use Tic Buddy
  • Create records through it
  • Change records through it

A role that has never been set may use it fully. Whatever is ticked, Tic Buddy only does what that person could do in the CRM themselves, and only what is switched on under Settings → Tic Buddy.
