Add custom fields and arrange the form
Add your own fields to leads, deals, contacts and companies, and arrange the sections and fields on a record.
Every business keeps a few details the standard CRM does not ask for: a GST number, a project size, the model a customer is interested in. Add them as custom fields and they appear on the record, in lists, filters, imports and exports like any other field.
There are two places to do this: Settings → Custom fields for a quick list, and Customise form on a record, where you also decide the sections and the order. Both need an owner or admin.
Add a field in Settings
- Open Settings and choose Custom fields under Data & fields.
- Pick the kind of record in the box at the top left: Lead fields, Deal fields, Contact fields or Company fields.
- Click Add field.
- Type the Label, the name people will see.
- Choose the Type, for example Text, Number, Date, Choice for one choice from a list, Multiple choice for several, Yes / No, or Web address.
- For Choice and Multiple choice, add the Choices. Paste a list adds many at once.
- Tick Required field if it must always be filled in.
- Click Add field.
Two special types save typing:
- Use a field from another module: the same field, with the same choices, on a second kind of record. For example, the company type on a lead. Each record keeps its own value.
- Show a linked record's field (read-only): shows a field of a linked record, such as the industry of the deal's company, and changes when that record changes.
To delete a field, hover over it and click the bin. Values already saved stay in the records but stop showing.
Below the list, the same page sets which fields the quick add form asks for, what counts as a duplicate, and, for leads, what is copied when a lead is converted.
Arrange the form on a record
- Open any lead, deal, contact or company.
- Click Customise form at the top.
- Now you can:
- Drag a field to reorder it, or drop it into another section.
- Drag a section by its handle to move it.
- Rename a section with the pencil, or delete it with the bin.
- Click Add section to start a new group of fields.
- Click Create field at the bottom of a section to add a new field right there.
- Click Done customising when you are finished.

The changes apply to every record of that kind.
Create field on the form offers more types than the Settings page: String, Long text, List, Multiple choice, Number, Amount, Money, Date, Date and time, Yes / No, Email, Phone, Link, Employee, File, and Bind to a record, which points at another lead, deal, contact, company or one of your own modules. Each type has a one-line description in the list.
When you delete a section that still has fields, you choose: OK deletes the fields and their values; Cancel keeps them and moves them to another section.
Hide a field, or show it only to some people
Owners and admins see a small settings icon (Field settings) next to each field on a record. Its menu offers:
- Hide in this pipeline (on deals and leads), so a field shows only in the pipelines where it matters.
- Hide this field, or Hide in all pipelines, to take it off every card until you show it again.
- All settings…, where you can show the field only to certain teams or roles, show it only when another field has a certain value, or make it required only when another field has a certain value.
While customising a deal or lead, Copy field setup to… gives other pipelines the same shown and hidden fields as the current one. When some fields are hidden, Configure shows them again so you can bring them back.
