API keys
Make an API key so your own software, a developer or TicAte CRM can read and write your ChatIQ conversations, contacts and visitors.
The ChatIQ API lets other software work with your chats: TicAte CRM, a tool such as Zapier, or something a developer builds for you. Each piece of software gets its own API key. You manage keys under Settings → API & webhooks.
Only owners and admins can make and revoke keys.
Make a key
- Open Settings and click API & webhooks.
- Under API keys, type a Key name you will recognise, such as "TicAte CRM connector".
- Choose the websites it may reach. With none ticked, it covers every website, including any you add later. Tick some to limit it to those.
- Click Create key.
- The key appears once: "Your new API key — copy it now, it won't be shown again." Copy it and keep it somewhere safe, such as your password manager.
See and revoke keys
Each key in the list shows its name, its websites, and when it was last used, or never used. A key you no longer recognise, or that has been shared too widely, should go: click Revoke. Software using it stops working at once.
For developers
Send the key in the Authorization: Bearer <key> header to https://chatiq.ticate.com/api/v1/…. Try GET /api/v1/me first: it answers with the workspace the key belongs to. Read the API docs on the same page opens the full reference.
