Change how the chat looks and greets visitors
Give each website's chat its own title, colour, corner, greeting and away message, and decide whether visitors give their name first.
Every website has its own chat settings, so each one can sound like its own brand. You find them on the website's card under Websites. Changing them needs the owner or admin role.
The settings
- Widget title: the heading at the top of the chat window, such as "Chat with Sunrise".
- Accent colour: the colour of the chat button and the top of the window. Pick it, or type a colour code such as #0f766e.
- Name visitors see on replies: your team's own names, one name for everyone, or none. See Choose the name visitors see on replies.
- Greeting: the first message a visitor sees when they open the chat.
- Offline message: shown when nobody in your team is online.
- Suggested questions: questions a visitor can tap instead of typing. See Suggested questions.
- Position: Bottom right or Bottom left of the page.
- Ask for name & email before the first message: when on, visitors fill in their name and email before they can write, so you can always get back to them.
- Show agents what a visitor is typing: when on, your team sees a visitor's words as they type, before they send. They are shown live and never saved. When off, nothing leaves the visitor's browser until they send it.
Save your changes
Click Save widget settings at the bottom of the card. Until you do, Unsaved changes shows beside the button, and your browser asks before you close the page.

Saved settings reach the chat the next time a visitor opens or reloads a page on your website.
