Recognise customers who are signed in to your website
For websites with their own sign-in, tell ChatIQ who the visitor is, so they skip the name-and-email form and their chat is linked to them.
If people sign in to your website, for a customer account or a members' area, your website already knows who they are. A few extra lines, added by your web developer, pass that on to ChatIQ:
- The visitor skips the Name and Email form in the chat window.
- They appear by name in the Inbox, in Live visitors and in Contacts.
- Knowing who they are raises their lead score.
For your web developer
The chat starts a moment after the page has finished loading, and it then provides window.ticate. Wait for it, then pass the signed-in customer's details:
(function identifyForChat() {
if (!window.ticate) return setTimeout(identifyForChat, 500);
window.ticate.identify({
name: "Meera Nair", // the signed-in customer's name
email: "meera.nair@example.com", // and their email
});
})();
identify also accepts phone. Two more calls are available: window.ticate.open() opens the chat window, for example from a "Chat with us" button of your own, and window.ticate.close() closes it.
